Silviu 'mtwNightEnd' Lazar (Poza, partea stanga)

It is time to bring you some insights into our Play-the-Pro section and therefor we sat down with Silviu 'NightEnd' Lazar as one of our coaches and his client Frederik 'hYbEN' Nielsen, a 16-year old protoss gamer. Read more about their first training session and how they liked it in this news!

We established the Play-the-Pro system in order to create a contact between pro gamers and their fans, feel free to use our forum and the Ask-the-Pro section to ask our featured gamers about various stuff as well. This feature hasn't been used so far! But now let's start with the Interview:

Tak3r: "Hey NightEnd, thanks for your time to do this interview. We want to give our readers some insights about our Play-the-Pro section so why don't you start off and tell us something about you as a SC2 gamer".

NightEnd: "Hey Chris thanks aswell for taking this interview with me. Hmm what can i say i'm glad i've finished my last exams and the last year of my university 1 month ago or so and from now on i'm gonna focus most of my time on sc2. About me as a sc2 gamer what can i say i play protoss and i hope i can catch up very soon the hours i could not play in the beta phase".

Tak3r: "And what made you decide to offer lessons on our Play-the-Pro system?"

NightEnd: "In the past i did some lessons in wc3 and it was extremely fun for me and for my client so i wanted to try and see how it goes in sc2 and it turned out to be as fun as it was in wc3 and why not i can earn some money by doing so ."
---
Tak3r: "Also hi to you hyben. Please let us know how you got in contact with SC2-Inside and what lead to your decision to book a lesson from NightEnd?"

hYbEN: "Hi i got in contact with sc2-inside when a friend told me about the website and i was looking for a site were i could get in contact with some pro gamers. I selected NightEnd because he was protoss and i was protoss but kinda sucked to it and i had to be better so i could go to a tournament held by xplayn.com."

Tak3r: "I see and how did the first lesson go?"

hYbEN: "I have improved alot since we started the lesson, and this week i'm going to a tournament in a internet cafe called ingame and win the 2000 danish krones, with help from NightEnd".

Tak3r: "That's the right attitude for sure One more question before we get back to NightEnd: How many hours did you train with him so far and are you planning to book more?"

hYbEN: "Well i trained 2 hours but i don't know if im going to plan a booking again, not because of a lack of money but rather because i also have to focus on my organisation too so in the moment i only play for fun and later i'm gonna take it serious. The lesson with NightEnd was definitely worth it."
---
Tak3r: "NightEnd, please tell us how you prepare for a lesson. Once one of our readers books a timeslot in your profile, you receive an automatic mail and from there on everything is handled between you and your client. Let us know how you get in contact with him and if you expierenced any problems with that procedure so far."

NightEnd: "Well after i receive the booking in my email adress i send a mail to my booker with my contact options like msn skype mail etc then i wait him to contact me. We then agreed on a day and hour and then he has to send me the money on paypal or in my bank account at his choice."

Tak3r: "Sounds reasonable. How many clients did you have so far since our launch and you did not have any bad expierences yet with people not paying etc?"

NightEnd: "I had 2 clients so far and no everything worked perfect. I had no problem with paying or anything else".

Tak3r: "That's nice to hear, we will make more improvements to our Play-the-Pro section soon and you as a pro will be able to configure more options by yourself then. Would you also try to teach non-protoss players just by your knowledge of the game if someone approaches you or do you say that you will focus on protoss since it is your mainrace?"

NightEnd: "Well at the moment i don't think i can teach players to play like the top terran's or zerg's because i dont know the exact build-orders and timings and all this stuff so sadly i can only teach players how to play with protoss.

Tak3r: "Back to you hYbEN. You mentioned that you are gonna take it serious later. What are your plans exactly and what are hoping to achieve one day with the help of our pros? Also how many hours do you think it will take until you are ready to go out there and improve by yourself".

hYbEN: "My plans is to take it serious in about 6 months and in the time i maybe need some help from the pros but after that i wouldn't need help anymore."

Tak3r: "Alright, let's get back to the previous session with NightEnd. Did you encounter any language barriers during the lesson or was he able to teach you everything without bigger problems?"

hYbEN: "I didn't encounter any problems during the lesson. Even though he's not a native speaker we had no problems to talk about sc2 stuff."

Tak3r: "Can you tell us something about the way we designed our Play-the-Pro section and if it was user-friendly to get a lesson booked within short time? As mentioned we are working on a new version with more options already but maybe you can tell us some new features that we don't have planned yet."

hYbEN: "Right now i dont have any ideas for you and i think the section is good right now and easy to use."

Tak3r: "Do you have any pro gamers in mind that you would like to see in our Play-the-Pro section?"

hYbEN: "I think you should try get TLO in."

Tak3r: "That would be great for sure but I'm afraid he is too busy with his korea adventure now. Thanks for your time as well and i hope we could give our readers some insights with this dual-interview."

Tak3r: "And once again we return to NightEnd to finish this interview. How much time do you plan to invest in training other people?"

NightEnd: "Well i don't really know but i think i would make like 10 hours a week. It might change from time to time too."

Tak3r: "Does the training improve you in any way too or is it just purely a nice way to get some extra money in and to help other people improve their game?"

NightEnd: "I think the training is not really improving my own skill but it is a good way to get some extra money in and as i said before it's kinda fun for me to train people. One example is that on my last lesson frederik booked 2 hours but i actually trained him for nearly 3 hours since it was much fun."

Tak3r: "What do you think is the best way to teach someone? Playing games with them and tell them what they did wrong or maybe analyzing replays which they brought in to talk with you about it?"

NightEnd: "Well the best way to teach someone is first to make him feel confident from the start and to make him feel good. That's the most important thing and of course to teach him the right things in different situations of the game."

Tak3r: "Do you plan to increase the prize of one of your lessons (10€/hour currently) in the near future? It is pretty small compared to what guys in the US charge."

NightEnd: "At the moment i'm not thinking in increasing it because i think 10€/h is more than fine for the moment and im not a greedy person and i hate to be greedy and America has the biggest salaries so it's different there."

Tak3r: "And our last question for today: What kind of potential do you see in the Play-the-Pro system and do you think it will become big in some time? Right now you are not getting so many clients because our site is still very new and unknown."

NightEnd: "Well yes i do think it has big potential and with hard work from everyone and of course some luck it can become huge and my personal and honest opinion is that the idea itself is very good and new and the site is well designed too."

Tak3r: "Alright thanks so much for your time - it's your chance for shoutouts now."

NightEnd: "I'd like to thank all my fans for supporting me and also of course mTw and their sponsors! GL everyone."
